The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a strategic and collaborative Executive Director for Academic Unit Development to lead the team of gift officers advancing fundraising across UTA's academic colleges. This is a pivotal leadership role at a defining moment for the university — one that arrives as UTA launches its first comprehensive fundraising campaign and works to significantly expand its philanthropic capacity and alumni engagement.
The Executive Director will lead a high-performing team of unit development officers, providing mentorship, strategy and accountability across a metrics-driven environment. Working closely with deans and academic leadership, this leader will guide the design and execution of unit-based fundraising and alumni relations strategies while also maintaining a select personal portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects.
The ideal candidate brings eight or more years of major gift fundraising experience, a track record of closing six- and seven-figure commitments, and the ability to lead and inspire a team of development professionals. They are a collaborative, confident leader with the intellectual depth and political acumen to build trust with deans, faculty and senior university leadership, and the strategic mindset to help UTA seize this pivotal campaign moment.
