The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is seeking a highly accomplished and collaborative Executive Director for Principal Gifts and University Initiatives. This senior advancement leader will shape and elevate UTA’s principal gifts strategy during its first comprehensive campaign. This role sits at the nexus of presidential, academic and advancement leadership, guiding the University’s highest‑level philanthropic relationships and driving institution‑wide initiatives that strengthen UTA’s ability to secure transformative seven‑ and eight‑figure gifts. With responsibility spanning regional development, university initiatives and key service units, the Executive Director plays a pivotal role in aligning donor interests with UTA’s most ambitious priorities.

The position oversees a comprehensive principal gifts program, building and deepening relationships and ensuring coordinated, donor‑centric strategies across the university. The Executive Director manages a select portfolio of top prospects and partners closely with the President, Provost, University Advancement leadership, deans and development directors. Additionally, they will lead, manage and mentor a team of gift officers responsible for regional and cross‑institutional fundraising, ensuring that principal gift activity is strategic, collaborative and aligned with campaign goals. 

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of eight years of major and principal gift experience, ideally within a complex higher education environment. They possess the intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence to work effectively with senior academic leaders and top donors, along with a record of identifying and securing transformational gifts. A master’s degree, experience with comprehensive campaigns and comfort in a metrics‑driven environment are preferred.
