Assistant Vice President Advancement and Campaign Strategy
The University of Texas at Arlington
The Opportunity Overview
The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a strategic and collaborative Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services and Campaign Strategy to lead the infrastructure that powers fundraising across one of Texas's most dynamic public research universities. Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, this advancement team leader will oversee a comprehensive portfolio of advancement operations — including gift processing, prospect research, endowment services, advancement technology, donor relations and business operations — while providing strategic oversight of campaign management and reporting at a pivotal moment in UTA's philanthropic growth.
This role is as much about people and systems as it is about strategy. The AVP will lead and develop multiple teams of advancement professionals, driving a culture of accountability, integrity and continuous improvement across a metrics-driven environment. This leader will be the operational backbone of a department poised for significant expansion, and will ensure compliance with UT System and CASE reporting standards, maintain advancement technologies, and partner with the Office of Research, assuring data integrity, sound gift acceptance practices and meaningful donor stewardship across the advancement team.
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree and at least eight years of demonstrated experience in development or advancement services, with a strong track record of supervising complex teams in a higher education setting. They combine extensive technical knowledge of advancement systems with the organizational acumen and collaborative instincts to align people, processes and priorities in service of UTA's ambitious campaign goals. An advanced degree and experience with Raiser's Edge NXT are strongly preferred.
