The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the University of Chattanooga Foundation is seeking a Vice Chancellor/Executive Director to shape the future of development at a pivotal moment of growth and momentum. Serving as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s chief advancement officer and the executive director of the University of Chattanooga Foundation, this leader will set the vision and strategy for all philanthropic, alumni and external engagement efforts. Working closely with the Chancellor, the Foundation Board and community partners, the Vice Chancellor will design and lead a comprehensive, transformative campaign that expands access to higher education, strengthens UTC’s visibility and creates life-changing opportunities for students. The Vice Chancellor/Executive Director will lead a comprehensive advancement enterprise, manage a high-performing team, steward major and principal gifts and serve as a trusted ambassador to alumni, donors and civic leaders. With responsibility for both university advancement and foundation governance, this position offers meaningful influence, broad scope and the chance to leave a lasting legacy at a public university deeply connected to its region and mission.


The ideal candidate is a seasoned advancement leader with a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in university development, including a strong record of major and principal gift fundraising and leadership of comprehensive campaigns. They bring senior-level experience in a public university and affiliated foundation setting, proven success working with governing boards and a solid understanding of nonprofit financial management and compliance. An effective communicator and collaborative leader, the ideal candidate inspires teams, builds trusted relationships with donors and partners and is deeply committed to advancing access to higher education and institutional impact.

Through strong governance, sound financial management and close collaboration with University leadership, the Foundation plays a critical role in expanding educational access, enhancing academic excellence and creating meaningful opportunities for UTC students, faculty and programs.
