The Opportunity Overview

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking an innovative thinker who thrives on building meaningful connections between academia and industry to serve as Executive Director for Industry Relations (EDIR).  This role will have the unique opportunity to oversee a campuswide industry engagement effort, forging comprehensive relationships with top corporate and industry entities.  

Working alongside influential campus leaders such as the Vice President for Research and Innovation, Vice President for Administration and Economic Development, Provost and President, the EDIR will play a pivotal role in enhancing fundraising efforts, fostering research partnerships, driving workforce development initiatives and securing institutional sponsorships.  

The ideal candidate will have eight to 13 years of progressively responsible experience in engaging with corporations, preferably within higher education settings. The candidate must possess strong expertise in planning and executing engagement programs based on measurable metrics. Proven success in building fruitful relationships at high levels within complex industry partners is crucial.

Arlington is the seventh largest city in Texas boasting a population of more than 400,000 people.
