  • Dr. Mildred Edwards is an experienced multi-sector leader who has transitioned from leading within organizations to helping others lead successful teams, initiatives and personal lives. Through a diverse number of applications and experiences, she is adept at helping others to grow their leadership capacity through authentic, adaptive and science based competencies.

    She launched the Kansas African American Affairs Commission - State of African Americans in Kansas research initiative and served as its Executive Director in the Office of the Governor, served on the Kansas Board of Regents and as an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at Washburn University

    Mildred is a recognized researcher, public speaker, trainer and advocate. She has experience building and delivering leadership development programs that meet defined organizational goals, as well as with individual leaders to achieve personal and leadership growth. She has conducted feasibility studies, needs assessments, coaching and training in diversity, equity and inclusion at the corporate and community level.

    An avid traveler, community volunteer and yogi, Dr. Edwards plans and hosts destination retreats, programs and curricula that help groups and individuals to build momentum towards and strengthen goal attainment.

    Her direct communication style is tempered through her optimism, support of others and unexpected sense of humor. She believes in the capability of others and enjoys helping to effect long term behavioral change.

    Mildred holds multiple degrees including a Doctor of Philosophy in Community Psychology from Wichita State University.
