The Opportunity Overview

The Vice Chancellor for Development at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School is charged with advancing the school’s mission through philanthropy and alumni engagement. This position oversees fundraising strategy and cultivates relationships with major and principal gift donors capable of contributing $100K to $5M, while also strengthening alumni connections and stewarding donor loyalty. Partnering closely with the Dean, advancement colleagues, and the Board of Advisors, the Vice Chancellor plays a pivotal role in securing resources that fuel Graziadio’s academic excellence, facilities, and programs, ensuring the school continues to shape values-driven leaders who make a global impact.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising professional with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in major gift fundraising, including a proven track record of closing six- and seven-figure gifts. They bring exceptional communication, relationship-building and strategic leadership skills, along with the ability to collaborate across faculty, staff and advancement teams. A bachelor’s degree is required, as is the sophistication to engage high-net-worth individuals with discretion and confidence; an advanced degree and experience in higher education fundraising are preferred.

This leader must embody Pepperdine’s mission of purpose, service and leadership, inspiring generosity and building enduring alumni and donor partnerships.
